Whiskers 'N Tails Mousery

Breeding show quality mice in northeast Tennessee

Pink Eyed White

PEW Mice are, by far, the easiest mice to show. This is because they have no markings or shading and are, generally, all the same shade of white. Type and size are my only goals with this variety, since the color is already perfect.

Marked Splashed/ Tricolor/ Broken Multi

I breed tricolor mice in black and cinnamon. My goals with the tricolors are to improve type and size, but also to improve the spotting pattern to give the mouse equal parts of each three colors.

Manx

I have been working on the Manx body style for a short period of time and I have been able to improve upon it quite a bit within my stock. Currently, there are no written standards for the Manx body type, but I soon plan to enter the Manx into the unstandardized classes so that they may be standardized for future shows.

My goals are to improve overall type and body size, to produce completely tailless specimens which have no issues procreating and to limit, if not abolish, unwanted or harmful physical defects and abnormalities which can occur in the offspring. To date, I have not had any said defects or abnormalities in my litters which could have lessened the quality of life for the mice produced.

Hairless

The hairless variety is a rather tricky one. Female hairless do not lactate well and hairless are prone to skin and eye irritation. I have recently been crossing hairless bucks with excellent show-type does with plans for nice, naked show specimens in the near future.

Other Lines

In addition to the lines listed above, I also breed for Ivory, Reverse Siamese, Silver and Brindle.

Coat Types

My breeding stock consists mostly of the Standard coat. I also breed satin and fuzzy, in addition to the hairless specialty listed above.
